About Us
From a small group of seekers in the Mars Hill area who met weekly for soup and contemplative prayer, the Advent Spirituality Center has grown to include people from other places and traditions seeking ways to develop a deeper, centered-in-God life while journeying with like-minded folks.
Time after time, as people have been inspired on retreats, taken advantage of our resources and been renewed as ministers of God's work through access to the Advent Center, "I thought I was the only one" has been spoken with relief-tinged voices.
Activities and resources offered by the Advent Center are built on a rich Baptist tradition of spirituality enhanced by the larger stream of Christian spirituality.

| · Worship is an outgrowth of our prayers formed by the call of Scripture and focused on challenging us to promote God’s realm on earth by the way we live our lives and include others. |
